William Eighmey Dies at Age of 76

Following a week's illness with pneumonia, William Baxter Eighmey, aged 76 years, died at his home in Erie township at 4:15 p.m. yesterday. Mr. Eighmey was taken ill Christmas Day with a cold which developed into pneumonia.

He was born in Erie township March 21, 1857, and always made his home there as a farmer. He came with his father Ellas Eighmey from New York state when a small boy. Mr. Eighmey married Sarah Fisher at Erie on February 24, 1880.

Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, Austin, Cornelius and Delbert of Erie; one daughter, Mrs. Harley Mitchell of Monroe; two brothers, Truman of Temperance and James of Grape; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Kinsey of Temperance; 24 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m.m at the residence and burial will be in the Union cemetery at Erie. The body will rest at Mulholland's funeral home, Monroe, until Thursday.
